I can hardly believe that it has been a year since my last post. It has been quite a journey. After going to 10 doctors in Kansas City I made the decision to go to Atlanta in search of some help for my foot. I left Kansas City on August 11th and I just got back! I did find a surgeon and on November 7th I had major foot surgery. An ankle fusion with 2 screws and tendon repair. I was in a cast and non weight bearing for 8 weeks. Then I had to learn how to walk again and I am still in the recovery stage. I am just so thankful to be walking again and doing some of the little things that we take for granted. My journey in Atlanta was not just a physical journey but also a spiritual journey. I looked inward and made the decision to seek peace through every part of my recovery. I know that I am not the same person I used to be and I am thankful that God showed me that I am stronger than I thought I was.
I am back in my studio and creating. This weeks project was to get organized and to make Mothers Day cards and get them in the mail in time to get there this weekend.
As I start posting some of my work again I would love to hear what you think. Mel

I recently bought some Graphics 45 paper and was compelled to use it. So, I made these vintage cards yesterday and had a great time doing it!! The design is the same on both cards, I just used a different image. I made the rosette flower and the flower with the black and white dots myself. I found this lace ribbon at JoAnns and the frames for the images are Maya Road. Let me know what you think. Mel

I made these journals to give as gifts. The "Beauty" Journal was made with some American Crafts Valentines paper that I have had forever. I used a new Magnolia stamp that I ordered last month. The other journal was made with some We R Memory Keepers paper from the "Tiffanys" collection. Very basic but cute.

Graphics 45 Journal

Just an update......I finally got to a good orthopaedic doctor. I've been in a fiberglass cast since March 24th, but hope to come out of it sometime later this week! Then I will be wearing a foot/ankle brace for about 5 months. Hopefully, this will be just what I need to get me back on my feet and walking again. Using a walker and wheelchair is really making me feel old!!
Anyway, I have been busy the past few weeks. Been making some gifts for friends. I just love Graphics 45 paper and I made this journal for a guy friend of mine. I was trying to be masculine but still try to make a nice journal for him.
Let me know what you think.
