I can hardly believe that it has been a year since my last post. It has been quite a journey. After going to 10 doctors in Kansas City I made the decision to go to Atlanta in search of some help for my foot. I left Kansas City on August 11th and I just got back! I did find a surgeon and on November 7th I had major foot surgery. An ankle fusion with 2 screws and tendon repair. I was in a cast and non weight bearing for 8 weeks. Then I had to learn how to walk again and I am still in the recovery stage. I am just so thankful to be walking again and doing some of the little things that we take for granted. My journey in Atlanta was not just a physical journey but also a spiritual journey. I looked inward and made the decision to seek peace through every part of my recovery. I know that I am not the same person I used to be and I am thankful that God showed me that I am stronger than I thought I was. I am back in my studio and creating. This weeks project was to get organized and to make Mothers Day cards and get them in the mail in time to get there this weekend. As I start posting some of my work again I would love to hear what you think. Mel
