I've been working on an Art Journal called She Art.  This book has been a year in the making.   I've learned so much about techniques and texture.   I did the book in a Dylusions Small art journal.    While I love the size,  the book became bulky and didn't photograph well.   Let me know what you think.

This past year has been crazy. I definitely found my passion: Art Journaling. I love creating meaningful pages and I love teaching classes. I will be posting some of my Art Journal Pages and would love to hear what you think.

These are some of the inside pages.
I made a "Ladies Journal" book and thought it turned out good. This is the cover page and inside pages.
I have been busy in my craft room making Fathers Day Cards.

What a journey

Wow! I left Kansas City in August 2012 and moved to Atlanta. I live in Sandy Springs near Perimeter Mall in the Fountains at Morgan Falls apartments. I love where I live! I was able to make my dining room into my art studio and am able to be creative every day. I have been doing a lot of art journaling and I find it calms my spirit. My daughter gave me her puppy, Bailey and he is the love of my life. My other puppy just turned 19 and he has liver disease and I am not sure how long he will be with me. Since my surgery in 2011 I have had two more surgeries on my foot and while it hurts with every step I am thankful to be walking. Life doesn't always turn out the way we thought it would but life also provides many joys along the way. I just stay thankful and happy.

I can hardly believe that it has been a year since my last post. It has been quite a journey. After going to 10 doctors in Kansas City I made the decision to go to Atlanta in search of some help for my foot. I left Kansas City on August 11th and I just got back! I did find a surgeon and on November 7th I had major foot surgery. An ankle fusion with 2 screws and tendon repair. I was in a cast and non weight bearing for 8 weeks. Then I had to learn how to walk again and I am still in the recovery stage. I am just so thankful to be walking again and doing some of the little things that we take for granted. My journey in Atlanta was not just a physical journey but also a spiritual journey. I looked inward and made the decision to seek peace through every part of my recovery. I know that I am not the same person I used to be and I am thankful that God showed me that I am stronger than I thought I was. I am back in my studio and creating. This weeks project was to get organized and to make Mothers Day cards and get them in the mail in time to get there this weekend. As I start posting some of my work again I would love to hear what you think. Mel
